My humanities teacher at college taught me an approach to presentations that has come in handy whenever i have a presentation.
Imagine presenting as taking a flight to someplace. There are three stages: The taxiing, the take-off & flight, and the safe landing.
Similarly, in a presentation,
- Tell the audience what you are going to tell them
- Tell them
- Tell the audience what you told them (summarize)
With this approach, the audience will remember whatever you emphasized on. Don’t leave your audience hanging!
Notably – surprising facts, humor laced learnings, people and methodologies stick well long after the presentation is over!
